Omie Marie Brown

Omie Marie Brown departed this life on March 15th, 2023. Marie was born Dec 15th, 1929 to Elmer & Effie Compton in Vilonia, AR.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie M Brown, sons Steven Jay Brown & Terry Alan Brown.  She is survived by daughter Debbie & son-in-law Lee Morehart, daughter-in-law Carolyn Brown, sister Betty Sue Bailey, grandchildren Robert & Alan Brown, Tai & Eric Jackson, great-grandchildren Kale & Gage Jackson, and Nicole Langley and family.

In her long and full life, Marie loved taking care of her home and family, spending time with her relatives, and worshiping at her church. Marie was one of 11 Compton siblings, and along with Betty, were the sole remaining members. Betty was not only her sister, but her best friend.  Marie was a beacon of love and hope for anyone that knew her.

Services will be held on April 1st at Geyer Springs United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be at 12:30pm, funeral services at 1:30pm, and burial at 2:30pm at Forest Hills Memorial Cemetery, 1440 Stagecoach Rd, Little Rock.  Officiating will be Reverend Danita Waller Paige.  Donations may be made to GSUM on Marie’s behalf.
