Omera Selman
Omera Rutledge Selman of Little Rock departed this earth on June 3, 2012. She was born December 26, 1919, in Meridian, MS to Walter Joshua & Mary Elizabeth (McMullen) Rutledge. Omera resided in Camden, AR for a period of time and spent many years of her life working and raising her family in McGehee, AR prior to moving to Little Rock where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Ramsey of Alabama, one daughter, Kathy Savary and husband, Tom, of Conway, AR, one son, Jim Selman and wife, Robin, of Springdale, AR, seven grandchildren, Curt Selman, Chatham, NJ, Kevin Rogers, Lowell, AR, Carol Pitts, North Richland Hills, TX, Drew, Rebekka and BJ Savary, Jacksonville, AR, Dr. Scott Stephens, Springdale, AR, and six great-grandchildren.
Omera's career spanned many years in banking in both McGehee and in Little Rock. She retired from Regions Bank after serving over 20 years. She originally began with Commercial National Bank and continued through the mergers with First National Bank and Regions Bank. Through her career she was recognized with numerous awards for exemplary customer service including teller of the year and salesperson of the year. She was known for providing excellent customer service for all of her customers.
Omera's family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 7, at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery, Springdale, AR, at 2 p.m., Friday, June 8.
