Ollie Mae Simmons

Ollie Mae Tobey Simmons of Beebe, age 102, passed away peacefully at Arkansas Hospice on October 24, 2022.  She was born September 13, 1920.  The daughter of the late W. J. (Bill) and Etta Hester Corpier.  She was a retired church secretary serving at Cathedral Baptist Church in Jonesboro and Cherrywood Baptist Church in Sherwood.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Beebe.  Ollie Mae found great joy in taking care of her family.  She loved hosting gatherings, cooking, family reunions and reminiscing.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Verlyn C. Tobey, and Roy E. Simmons; step-daughter, Maria (Jabo) Brown; grandson, John Thomas Brown; her parents; three brothers, W. H. (Pete) Corpier, J. T. Corpier and Louis Corpier; three sisters, Fay Flannery, Velma Jones and Omogene Ingram.

She is survived by two sons,  Bob (Judy) Tobey of Sherwood, Arkansas; Roy (Kristi) Tobey of Beebe, Arkansas; two step-children, Roy Jean Simmons and Dana Rand; five grandchildren, Brooks Tobey, Cary Tobey, Willana Prince, Eric Tobey and Leah Tobey; three step-grandsons, Ricky Brown, Jerry Brown and Greg Brown; two sisters, Billy Jo Gentry and Carolyn Harden. As well as a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, October 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home (Chapel), Beebe.  Graveside service will be held Friday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Hills Cemetery, located in Sherwood, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church, Beebe, Arkansas.
