Olivia (Libby) R. Escovedo, 61, died January 28, 2009.
She was born on June 5, 1947 to the late Vicenta and P.O. Rios in Lohn, Texas.

She married her husband, M.J. June 11, 1966 in Big Spring, Texas. While raising five sons she went back to school to become a nurse. She worked at Rebsamen Hospital in Jacksonville, AR for 24 years, where she made many life long friends.

After she retired, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, and volunteering at St. Anne Catholic Church, the church that she loved so much. Libby especially loved serving at the Senior Luncheon?s and the funeral dinners that the women?s group was responsible for. Those activities were an extension of the things she loved to do. For her family she loved to cook. No one ever left Libby?s house hungry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers P.O. Rios, Jr. and Daniel Rios. She leaves behind the love of her life M.J., their five sons and their wives; Nunie and Katie Escovedo, N. Little Rock, Arkansas, Tony and Cyndi Escovedo, Russellville, Arkansas, Eddie and Sherese Escovedo, Sherwood, Arkansas, Ronny and Juanita Escovedo, Jacksonville, Arkansas, C.J. and Crystal Escovedo, Surprise, Arizona.

Additionally she leaves behind several grandchildren: Gabby, John-Philip and Brady Escovedo; Jennifer Demeter and Rebecca Hahn; Hannah, McKenzie and Savanna Escovedo; Russell Ginn, Brianna Escovedo, Jannett Trujillo, Erica Escovedo, Jasmine Trujillo; Taylor and Brynn Escovedo; and one great-granddaughter Madison Demeter. Libby is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Luis Rios, Joe Rios, Janie Rios and Manuela Galindo all of Big Spring, Texas; Ophelia Bowen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.

She will be missed by all, but especially by her husband and boys, as she was the heart and soul of her family.

Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., North Little Rock, AR, (501) 758-1170. The Rosary will be immediately following at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock with Father Tom
Stehlik presiding.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 6150 Remount Rd., North Little Rock, AR 72118, (501)753-3977. Burial will take place at Edgewood Cemetery, 4200 Division St., North Little Rock, AR 72118.
