Norman Word

Norman ?Bill? Word, 76, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008. He was a retired Network Switching Engineer for Southwestern Bell and member of Pioneer?s Club. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and an usher. He was a 32 degree Mason with the Western Star Lodge #2 where he received a 50 year pin and in 1997 received The Knights Commander Court of Honor. He was also a member of Shriners Diner Unit.
He is survived by two daughters, Neta Haggard, of Sherwood and Jamie Shoemaker (Harold) of Cabot; grandson, Mickel Word, of Maumelle; and sister, Carolyn Courson, of Crossett. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 37 years, Alice Katherine Word; 2nd wife, of 16 years, Betty Dempsey Word and his son, Thomas Edward Word.
Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, Lottie Moon Offering, 201 East ?C? Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday at Park Hill Baptist Church with a 12:30 P.M., committal service at Edgewood Memorial Park. Followed by the burial of his wife Betty Word at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. till service time at the church.
