Norma Imogene Hulbert Knappier age 83 of Benton, AR formerly of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away February 11, 2011 at the Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant, AR.
Imogene was born November 28, 1927 in Mt. Vernon to parents Alva and Helen Hulbert she was a faithful member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ and a preschool teacher at the Tuesday school, Bible class teacher and a cook for little Egypt Christian Youth Camp. She is survived by one son Michal Knappier of Benton, AR; a daughter Shirley Shelton of Terre Haute, Indiana; 2 sisters Elinor Sanders and Glenda Strampka of Sterling, IL; four grandchildren Chad, Nathan, Becca and Tadd Shelton; eight great grandchildren Mark, Bailey, Caden, and Jude Knappier, Duncan, Gavin, Connor and Brody Lambert.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Melvin Knappier.
Memorial services will be at the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon, IL at 3pm Tuesday February 15, 2011. Chad Knappier will be officiating. Inurnment will be at the Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Northside Church of Christ Sardis Camp Fund.
