Norma Jean Mitchell Carson

Norma Jean Mitchell Carson, 89, died on February 27, 2022. Jean was born to James “Herman” Mitchell and Lavada “Pearl” Jane Standridge Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston David Carson, Sr.; parents; siblings Raymond Mitchell (WWII), Emmadell and Lloyd Willman; Billy Joe and Dorothy Mitchell; Christine and Norman “Buster” Horn, Donald Scroggin; Jeweldean and R.L. Gaither; special cousin Peggy Sharp; her husband’s siblings and spouses, save one.

Jean is survived by her children: Dayna and George Mowbray, David and Stephanie Carson, Tracy and Buddy Arnold; grandchildren: Adam and Ashley Carson, James and Amanda Westlake, Andrew and Skye Westlake, Jessica and Jon Everson, Erik and Megan Westlake, Aaron and Ashley Carson; great-grandchildren Carson, Kinsley, Kellan, Maddi, Jordan, Emma Jean, Ava, Max, Xander and expected baby Daniel; Sister-in-law Angie Westbrook; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mom was a true extrovert who loved people with all her heart. She was a wonderful mother who loved to cook and care for her children. She loved all her children’s friends. She loved people with food, and was a great cook. She was an easy and gracious hostess and was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends. She was sweet, sincere, honest, caring and a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor. She will be truly missed.

Memorial Service is 3:30 PM Friday, March 4, 2022 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, Sherwood.
