Norma Crutchfield

On Tuesday, August 11, 2015, Norma Jean Crutchfield, of Ward, Arkansas, left the bonds of this earth destined to see the face of God. During her earthly journey, she touched the hearts of all who knew her and many she would never meet.

A lifelong member of Ward First Baptist Church, Norma spent endless hours feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the poor, visiting the sick, and comforting the sorrowful. Never one for the spotlight, Norma could always be found working tirelessly to lift up everyone else. She made them shine on their wedding day, fed everyone on every occasion, and cared for every youth in the church.

Norma will be remembered most as a woman of faith. Her confidence in Christ's salvation was unshakable, regardless of this life's challenges. Norma embodied Christ's command to love her God and her neighbor, always a bright light in the midst of all storms.

Norma's light now shines from Heaven on the family and friends she left behind. Her absence is felt most by her husband, Bill Crutchfield; son, Kent; daughter-in-law, Nina; sisters, Betty Plummer and husband, Doyne, Shirley Sanders, and Phyllis Morris and husband, David; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruby (Tozer) Champlin; sister, Recie Langford, and her husband, Bill; and brother-in-law, L.D. Sanders.

Memorials may be made to the food pantry at Ward First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 240,
Ward, AR 72176.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Ward First Baptist Church, with interment following at Sixteenth Section Cemetery.
