Norma S. Callaway Burks age 71 of Vineland, New Jersey formerly of Arkadelphia and Malvern passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Burks was born in Arkadelphia the daughter of the late William and Ethel Beatrice Collins Callaway. She resided in Malvern until she moved to Vineland in 1989.
Norma loved to read her bible and was a member of Faith Bible Church, Vineland, New Jersey. She also loved gardening, sewing, cooking and helping Pop with his puzzles. Before retiring, she worked as a bookkeeper for Safeway Freezers in Vineland, New Jersey.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Charles A. Burks of Vineland, New Jersey; four children, Susan Lynn Pantilione and husband, John of Vineland, New Jersey; Charles Burks and wife, Renate of Millville, New Jersey; Andy Burks of Malvern, Arkansas; Terry Burks and wife, Ann of Mansfield, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Stephanie, Elizabeth, William, Brittany, Brett and Chad; one great-grandson, Brandon; one brother, Bill Callaway and wife, Helen of Hollywood, Arkansas; two sisters, Mildred Thiesfield and Betty Regner both of Harlingen, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia from 12 until 1:00 PM with graveside services immediately following at Golden Cemetery on Hwy. 8 West of Arkadelphia.
