Nona Ruth Pickard

Nona Ruth Pickard, 85, of Sherwood passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family.
 
Nona was born on September 22, 1938, in Keo, Arkansas. She grew up in Plum Bayou, Arkansas. In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart Billy and relocated to Sherwood. Like many women of her generation, she opted not to work outside of the home and dedicated her life to being a central figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and tending to her beautiful flowers but her true passion was creating a legacy for her family. There was nothing she cherished more than family.
 
Nona was preceded in death by her parents Reece and Mae Barnes; her two brothers, Gerald (Ruby) Barnes and Donald (Marilyn) Barnes; and her sister, Ann (Jim) Cline.
 
Survivors include the love of her life, Billy Pickard; her son, Gary (Brenda) Pickard of Sherwood; her daughter, Sharon (Tommy) Pruss of Romance; her son, Cory (Ashley) Pickard of Maumelle; grandson (honorary son), Nathan (Sarah) Pruss of Romance; grandsons, Harley, Avery and Landry Pickard; grandsons, Aaron and Jeremy Pickard; her great-grandchildren, Swayze Pruss, Maddison Hargrove, and Mason Fulcher; her sister Clara (Bill) Jones of Eugene, Or. and her sister Shirley (Eddie) Welch of Benton.
 

Visitation will be at 12:30 PM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, with service to begin at 1:30 PM. Interment at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
