Nolan Vance Raper, age 82, died Saturday June 16, 2012 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born August 2, 1929 the youngest of four children born to the late Albert and Ola Raper. Nolan served his country in the U.S. Army and Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for Southwestern Bell Corporation in Little Rock for 36 years. He married Alice Skipper in 1954 who became his wife and best friend for the next 57 years. Nolan enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, his son Steve and wife, Tina of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren, David Lee and Stephanie, his older brother, Troy L. Raper and wife, Margaret, and sister, Virginia Harrison, all of Little Rock, AR. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Nolan was preceded in death by his oldest brother, A.C. Raper, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, June 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 19 at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Dr. Bob Dunaway.
