Benno (Ben) L. Alig, 77, of Plainview, Arkansas and formerly of Naples, Florida, entered this world on March 4, 1929 in El Paso, Illinois. He departed on August 14, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benno M. and Mary Humes Alig, and his brother, Mike, who left on February 18, 2005.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Suzanne, of Plainview, Arkansas; his loving children, Leyah L. Cacho of Naples, Florida; Ben L. Alig II of Russellville, Arkansas; and Brandi L. Taylor of Bonita Springs, Florida; seven granddaughters and one grandson; his four brothers, Alan Alig of New Jersey; Donald and James Alig, both of Illinois; and Patrick Alig of Virginia; his two sisters, Cora Antonacci of Illinois and Donna Herberger of New York; several nieces and nephews, friends and also, his loving Labradors and Bassett Hounds.
Ben worked as a construction superintendent. He built numerous golf courses in Florida and also many interstates and highways throughout the South.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and Juvenile Diabetes Association.
