Nina Wright

Nina Wright, age 90, of Hot Springs, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. 

She was born on October 10, 1932, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Cume Harrison Mahan and Ada Irene Burks Mahan.  On May 19, 1951, she married James E. Wright, who has preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Opal Whisenhunt, Lois Hibbs and Doris Wallace; and two brothers, Delbert Mahan and Everett Mahan.

Nina was a Christian and a member of Center Fork Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School.  She loved gardening and canning.  Her family was the center of her life.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Clayton Wright of Hot Springs; her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Gary Sanders of Hot Springs; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kristi and Joe Forthman; two great-grandchildren, Landon Kitt and Braydon Kitt; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2022, with Bro. Scott Bates officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Rush Fork Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Landon Kitt, Braydon Kitt, Randy Mann, Jeff Wallace, Jerry Don Oliver and Ricky Mahan.

Honorary pallbearers are Mindy Farmer, Betsy Shuffield, Jr. Oliver, David Oliver, Etha Driggers and Doris Wacaster.  A special thank you goes to Dr. Hunter Carrington and the staff of Lake Hamilton Health & Rehab for the care and love you gave to Nina.
