Nelson "Bill" Larkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on December 4, 1938, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Bill lived a life marked by service, compassion, and a love for his family.

Bill proudly served his country in both the United States Air Force the National Guard, embodying the dedication and commitment to service that defined his life. His devotion to others extended beyond his military service; Bill was known for his willingness to help anyone in need, often discreetly offering assistance without seeking recognition for his actions. His compassionate nature shone brightly through his desire to provide for children in need.

A member of Wright's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Bill was deeply rooted in his faith. He taught Sunday School for many years and had a profound understanding of the Bible, particularly book of Revelations, which he often shared with others. Bill's love for God was complemented by his enjoyment of good old-fashioned gospel singings, adding joy and spirituality to the lives of those around him.

An avid sports enthusiast, Bill particularly enjoyed basketball and cherished moments spent fishing. These hobbies brought him great happiness and provided opportunities to bond with family and friends.

Bill leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Martha Larkins of Benton, Arkansas; his daughter, Lorri Larkins of Ball, Louisiana; his sons, Michael Larkins of Ball, Louisiana, and Billy Benson of Bossier, Louisiana. He was a proud grandfather to Luke Robertson, Corey Michael Larkins, Latisha Jones and her husband Justin, Amy Larkins, and Jennifer Larkins, as well as several great-grandchildren. Bill is also remembered by a host of extended family and friends whose lives he touched profoundly.

He was preceded in death by his father Norvin Larkins, his mother Elizabeth Grace (Collins) Larkins, and his brother Don Larkins.
