Nelda Hodges

Nelda Hodges, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 15, 2024, at
Azria Health Longview in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was born on August 25, 1952, in Corpus
Christie, Texas.
Nelda's warm and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She cherished spending
time with her family and friends, creating countless memories filled with laughter and joy. Nelda
had a heart of gold and always made sure to express her love to those around her. Her kind and
gentle soul shone through in everything she did.
In her free time, Nelda found solace in simple pleasures like taking walks, singing in the church
choir, and listening to music. These pastimes brought her peace and allowed her to appreciate the
beauty of life.  Nelda loved serving the Lord and was a member of Life Line Baptist Church in
Little Rock, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Will of Glenwood, Iowa; sons: Christopher Hodges of
Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jonathan Hodges of Benton, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-
grandchild; sister, Cynthia Anderson of Cabot, Arkansas; along with numerous other family
members and friends.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin David Hodges of Chicago, Illinois; mother,
Nell Sivils-Kusturin of Hamburg, Arkansas; and father, Jo Kusturin USMC of West Virginia,
Virginia.
A visitation will be held on March 14, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith-Benton Funeral
Home followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. The burial will take place at Oak Bower
Cemetery in Bismarck at 3:45 PM.
Nelda Hodges will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kind spirit and unwavering
love for those around her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by many.
