Neil S. Edmundson, age 97, of Glenwood, died Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was born on April 13, 1914, at Parma, Idaho, the son of Louis Francis Edmundson and Georgia Anna Henson Edmundson. On September 8, 1935, he married Ethel Olivia Edmunson Edmundson who preceded him in death on October 1, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde Edmundson and Paul Edmundson; and one sister, Mable Edmundson. Neil retired to the Glenwood area in 1983 from Petaluma, California where he had been a dairyman, feed salesman and carpenter. He continued to build furniture and was an avid gardener, caring for his rose gardens, crepe myrtles and an organic vegetable garden. He enjoyed camping, fishing and reading Zane Grey novels. He was a member and deacon of the Glenwood Church of Christ and taught World Bible School Classes by correspondence to over 16, 000 students. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie and Art Melling of Santa Rosa, California, Georgia Lee and Norman Doty of Sebastopol, California, and Joyce Marie and Doyce Golden of Glenwood; one son, Frank Perry Edmundson of Grafton, Virginia; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the Glenwood Church of Christ with E. J. Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
