Neil Ray Morton, 64, of Cabot, Arkansas, was called home into eternal rest on April 25, 2025. Born August 22, 1960, in Waxahachie, Texas, Neil lived a life grounded in Christian faith, a disciplined work ethic, and devotion to his family.
He leaves behind his wife, Rosemarie "Rose" Morton; children: Michael Myrick (Cassandra) of Mountain Home, AR, David Myrick of Searcy, AR, Brian Myrick (Adrena) of Pottsville, AR, Rebecca Morton Ward (Zak) of Ward, AR, Jonathan Morton of Cabot, AR, and Daniel R Morton of Germany; nine grandchildren: Gavin Myrick, Kayden Myrick Williams, Kylie Myrick, Isabella Patterson Krueger, Skylar Myrick, Lydia Myrick, Brynlee Myrick, Adelyn Ward and Brantley Ward; his mother, Sharon Nelson Morton; and siblings, Sherry Maracle (Gordon), Kimberly Zcarka, and Stephen Morton (Karen). Neil was preceded in death by his father, David Morton.
Neil loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He cherished his wife and consistently worked to show her his love throughout their marriage. Though a reserved man who often kept to himself, his words carried weight, commanding attention when he spoke, especially among those he loved. His sharp mind, quiet intelligence, and unique sense of humor made him unforgettable to those who knew him best.
A Gulf War veteran and Army Combat Engineer, Neil earned numerous awards for his service, the most prestigious being the Bronze Star. Throughout his life, Neil held a variety of roles, excelling in each with unwavering dedication. Most recently, he served as Facilities Supervisor for Arvest Bank, where his diligence and integrity left a lasting impression. Well-traveled throughout his life, Neil eventually settled in Cabot, declaring he would never move again until he reached heaven — a promise he kept.
Neil’s unexpected passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved him, but his family finds comfort in the promise that they will meet again in heaven. He was so dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
