Nathan "Nate" David Hooks, 31, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was born on April 28, 1977, and was called home to Heaven on April 13, 2009. He was a member of Levy Church of Christ. Nathan was preceded in death by his wife, his soul mate, Christy Hooks, his grandparents: Bill ?Paw-Paw? Hooks, Travis ?Granddaddy? and Kathryn ?Nana? Haynes.
Left to cherish his memory are: his parents, Dwayne "Bill" and Tresa Hooks; his sister..his "Pitter" Whitney and brother-in-law Chris Graves whom Nathan said gave him great comfort for knowing Chris would always take care of his precious sister; his dearly loved "Me-Maw" Rita Hooks, his beloved and devoted dog "Vegas"; his best friend "brother in heart" Jared Blevins; much loved extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and "brothers of Levy?s Tuesday Morning."
Nathan was a creative and gifted writer. He wrote several short stories and was putting together his multitude of journals with the goal of publishing his first novel. He already had completed his "Note to the Editor." Nathan?s sense of humor could not be matched. He loved to laugh and wanted others to experience the healing and comfort that laughter can provide.
He made sure everyone he loved knew it?always a warm hug?a gentle kiss?.a sweet "I love you." In his own works, from his abundant writings, "When you hug those you love, hold them a little tighter and just a second or two longer. Thank God for them more often. Kiss them one more time before they leave. Don?t wait because you know you?ll be able to do it later. Sometimes, there?s just not a later?.
