Naomi Teague Whitley departed this life to be with the Lord at Baptist Health in Little Rock on November 21, 2011 at 3:15 p.m. She was born on December 29, 1916 to Robert and Sara Webb White who preceded her in death along with nine sisters, one brother and her first husband, Floyd Teague. Naomi was a member of East End Baptist Church of Hensley.
She was a very hard worker, having served Tuff Nut Garment factory for 32 years and AT&T Teletype for six years. Naomi married Bro. Jesse Whitley on May 17, 1975 and they have shared 36 years together. She was a loyal, loving, devoted wife, stepmother and Christian lady.
She is survived by her husband, Bro. Jesse Whitley; her stepson, A.T. Cox and stepdaughter, Vicki Cumbie and their families; a special niece, Wanda Cockrell and nephew, Lowell (Sonny) Parish; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family expresses sincere thanks to Dr. Robert M. Searcy and his wife, Dr. Mary Searcy for their compassionate care of Naomi and to the nursing staff of #14 SICU at Baptist Health in Little Rock for their kind and compassionate care.
Services will be held on Friday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. at East End Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ron Sanders. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Old Union Cemetery at Rye. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial gifts to the East End Baptist Food Pantry, 4703 East End Road, Hensley, AR 72065.
