Naomi Carson

Naomi LaVonne Carson, 79 of Hampton, Arkansas, a blessed child of God, left this Earth on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 to dwell forever in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Fondly known as Momma Bear by friends and family she was born in Amity, Arkansas on August 25, 1939 to the late Jewel R. and Cora Holcomb. LaVonne graduated from Amity High School in 1957. Momma Bear beautifully played the Piano, Organ, Guitar, and Accordion. She was also an outstanding singer.

In Jan. 1961 their love story began when she married Cliff Carson.
She is survived by her Husband of 57 years Clifton Carson, daughter Kathy Steele (Jerry), and Son Kevin (Teresa): Grandsons Sean Carson, Jared Steele, Zachariah Carson, and Granddaughters Summer Carson, Amber Lisko (Luke): Great- Grandsons, Braxton Carson, Braylon Carson, Sawyer Lisko and Great-Granddaughters Aaleyah Carson and soon to be born (next April) Adeline Lisko. Plus a host of sisters-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews and her precious cat Simba.

Momma Bear was preceded in death by daughter Lee Ann Carson: 7 brothers : Vernon, Lyndall, Charles, Wayne, Gerald, Gene, and Larry Holcomb, and 4 Sisters: Evelyn Allen, Fern Ainsworth, Verlon Floyd, Ruth Partridge and Nephews Darrell Holcomb and Brent Holcomb and Nieces Lou Ann Strickland and Kim Sanders.

She was intensely loyal to her family and friends, she never met a stranger and was the most loving woman you could ever meet. Her generosity knew no bounds. She loved spending time with the members of First Assembly of God Church and was much loved in return by all who knew her.

In 2005 Momma Bear suffered a Spinal separation causing her to have 3 Surgeries in 18 days and became bed ridden. She had lost the ability to walk two plus years before those operations. While she was bed ridden her Church life was provided by Televangelists Jimmy Swaggart, Joel Osteen, and God's Party Line Services provided to members by the Bismarck Baptist Church.

One day in 2012 two Hampton First Assembly of God Church members came to her house and prayed for healing. After that Jesus raised her out of the bed into a wheelchair. Momma Bear and Family then begin attending the Assembly and later became Members of the Hampton First Assembly of God where she continued to be the recipient of many blessings. Having been unable to walk for 10 years, a prayer was then sent up by an Assembly Evangelist praying for Jesus to get her out of the wheel chair and walk. She began to walk for the first time in 10 years without support. All who knew her loved her dearly and Praised God for his healing powers. She died peacefully in her sleep a little before Sunrise on Sunday Morning.

She worked for Timex in Little Rock, Douglas Aircraft in Los Angeles, and General Dynamics in East Camden, Arkansas being honored as Outstanding Employee in 2002.
