Nancy Marie Wiggins passed away at home on February 25, 2007. She was born to a pioneer ranching family in Bowie County, Texas, on January 29, 1913. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wiggins, and son, George Johnston.
She is survived by her son, Burrell D. Johnston and wife, Karen, of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Libby Danks, her husband Michael Danks and their son, Wesley Danks, of Austin, Texas; and Lisa Irvin, her husband Richard Irvin and their daughters, Morgan Irvin, Helen Irvin and Emma Irvin; and grandson, Neal Johnston, all of Little Rock; and daughter-in-law, Linda and Dwight Weems of North Little Rock.
Nancy loved caring for her gardens and experimenting with both native and imported plants. She and Bill were both active in the Arkansas Arts Center. Nancy's last illness was short and capably managed by her care-givers, Bobbie Hughes, Debra Hubbard, Gloria Pace, Belva Hughes and Sarah Monks, referred to as "THE SCOTT SAMARITANS", and Arkansas Hospice, Inc. The family extends thanks to all of them.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2 at the funeral home, followed by burial in Mt. Holly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to your favorite charity.
