Nancy Jones

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, Nancy Jones of Beebe, Arkansas, left this old world to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 80. Nancy was born to William and Illa Jones on October 5, 1944, in Burbank, California. She attended high school in North Hollywood and claimed to know several TV actors. She went on to have a business career working with CPA’s and in retail for several years. Besides raising her children, her most rewarding job came when she was working in nursing homes. She loved helping others in need. She didn’t have much, but what she had was yours. Fitting enough that she would spend the last 5 years living, or some would say, working, at Greystone Nursing Home. To hear all the stories, she wanted to be in the middle of it all. Some days, she truly thought that she worked there. Her caretakers just let her believe that and went as far as making her own name tag that says, Nancy, Forever Resident, with the Greystone name embossed beneath those words. She was so proud and felt accomplished. You could see her at all hours of the day and night walking the halls just loving on everyone. And everyone loved her, as far as we know.

She is survived by her four children, Sharron Hartzell of Danville, Arkansas, Allan (Mary) Ray of Salem, Oregon, Michael (Whitney) Ray of Beebe, Arkansas, and Brett Seaton of Ontario, Oregon. She had 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Her kids were her life. Anything they needed, she gave them. Sometimes it was what they wanted and others it was what they needed. They loved Christmas and birthdays because they could always count on the card and/or care package to arrive four days early for the occasion. She didn’t have much but love to offer. When she would send gifts, nine times out of ten, they were homemade. They were the best. Either way, it was packaged with love and if she wrapped a present, she would make sure the entire thing had a whole roll of tape on it. She could fill a paper box with water if she wanted to and could seal it up to where it wouldn’t leak. It has since been passed down to the grandkids like a competition to see who can granny-wrap someone’s present!

Her final church home was Union Valley Baptist Church. Once her health began to decline, the decision was made to make the move from Oregon to Arkansas. Right away, several ladies of the church became attached to her. They loved her like The Church is supposed to. She will be missed so much.
