Nancy Etta Barnes Lovin

Nancy Etta Barnes Lovin, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. She was born on January 10, 1948 in Danville, Arkansas to Claude and Delora Barnes. Her early years were spent in McGehee, Arkansas where she graduated high school. Nancy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother

Nancy was always involved with her church and was blessed with a beautiful voice. She sang in her church choirs and shared many solos. When able she taught Sunday school classes and enjoyed the women’s groups. She often hosted church groups in her home for Christmas luncheons.

Traveling with her friends and family was special to Nancy. She enjoyed cruises and could go to the same places many times and still enjoy the places and want to go back. Nancy especially enjoyed time with family and friends and cooking for these times. She learned from her mother to be a great cook.

She was an avid reader and competed with her brother to see who could read the most books in a week. Nancy usually won. She also spent time each day reading the Bible or daily devotional. This was very important to Nancy. 

Her greatest passion was being a mother and was blessed to have adopted a wonderful daughter, Lori Nicole now deceased and to have a special step son, Levi. She spent a lot of time helping raise Lori’s daughter Ashlee. 

She was married to Darrell “Deon” Lovin for 42 years and often said he was the best husband and care giver ever. Immediate family members include Dwight Self, son-in-law, granddaughter, Ashlee Self, a son Levi Lovin and a brother John Barnes, deceased (Linda). Other family includes Lorn Self (Katie), Jeanette Becvar (DC Rowlett), Mildred Huddleston (Don), Kenneth Lovin (Gail), Marlene Williams (Curt), Joyce Burmingham (Burlon), Dale Lovin (Lisa), and Barbara Lovin.
