Almond Nadine Hogg Edwards, who loved to be called Mama by her children and grandchildren, departed her loving family on Independence Day, July 4, 2022.
Nadine was born in Monette, Arkansas on October 24, 1929 to her beloved mother, Claudia Wallace Hogg and her father, Walter Lafayette Hogg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Guy H. Edwards, her older brother Ben Williams, Jr., her sister Kathaline Hogg Tapp and granddaughter Chosen Brunck.
As a mother, Nadine most valued her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Even in her protracted illness, her first words to visiting family was always to ask, "How is____ doing?" She loved to hear news of her family's daily lives, their accomplishments, and wanted to share in their disappointments.
A quiet woman who avoided being the center of attention, she made those around her feel valued and loved. She loved to cook, and most enjoyed preparing meals that nourished her loved ones when all would gather for her delicious pot roast and her special lemon cake. Consequently, the family table remained the center of life in the Edwards home throughout the years.
Nadine is survived by daughters Claudia Edwards Isbell, Elizabeth Bell Houston (Gary), of Little Rock, Arkansas and daughter Amber Edwards Holmes (Trevor) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
