Myrtie Mae Adcock Buck, age 95 of Amity died Sunday, June 14, 2009. Myrtie was born March 4, 1914, in Amity to James H. and Rose Ann Thomason Adcock. Myrtie was a Christian and attended 2nd Baptist Church in Amity. Myrtie began work at Oberman's and retired from Levi's after 28 Years of dedicated service. Myrtie loved being outside and working in her garden. Myrtie's compassion for others, tireless work ethic and determination continue to be an inspiration to her entire family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Curtis Earl Buck. Survivors include 4 children; daughter, Clara Deaton and Husband Bill of Amity; son Troy Dale Buck and wife Emma of Amity; son, Elton Buck and wife Joan of Arkadelphia; daughter Diane Sutton and husband Tom of Amity; one sister, Marie Thacker of Paris, AR; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Brian Thornton, Chet Dycus, Darrell Franklin, Jeff Sorrells, Brady Sorrells, Ted Huneycutt, Jr. and John Hollifield.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday June 18, in the Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Pastor Gary Jennings officiating. Internment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Fendley. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund c/o Martha Robertson, P.O. Box 195, Amity, AR 71921.
