Mrs. Mildred (Millie) Murphy of North Little Rock departed this life Friday, January 29, 2010. She was a resident of North Little Rock since 1946.
She spent her young adult life in West Virginia and married her high school sweetheart, the late Francis "Pat" Murphy. They were married 56 years before his death in 1996.
She was a graduate of Draughons School of Business and was retired from the Real Estate Dept. of the Pulaski County Assessors office. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, was past President of the Builders Sunday School Class, LAFF and Singles Group of the church.
She was a Chi Sigma Sorority member and enjoyed the friendship of each of her sorority sisters. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She had an innate ability to make friends with almost anyone with whom she had more than a passing contact.
She is survived by one daughter, Patty Heine and son-in-law, Larry, of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, one granddaughter, Lori, of Nashville, Tennessee; retired Chief Warrant Officer, Alan Burroughs and his wife, Deanna, of Boerne, Texas; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Landscater officiating. Interment will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 9:30 AM Tuesday before the service.
