Mr. Roy Russell

Roy A. Russell, 70, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2009. He was born October 11, 1939 to Charles Hubert Russell and Carrie Lasiter Russell.

He graduated from Midway School of Cabot in 1957, served in the Army National Guard, and retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 44 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cabot. Roy enjoyed working in the garden that he planted each spring and fall to share with friends and neighbors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved to cook and fry fish at numerous family and community gatherings. Roy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by wife, Connie; one son, Mark Russell (Lyn);four daughters, Karen Russell Vocque (Lance), Glenda Morris Wilson (Harry), Charmin Morris Brooks (Scott), Christy Morris Lustig (Gary); sister, Oleta Russell Kinder and husband,Paul, thirteen grandchildren, Erika, Morgan, and Elizabeth Russell; Brandon, Kyle, and Conner Vocque; Meagan Wilson; Hunter, Mason, and Madison Brooks; Lauren, Jacob, and Dain Lustig, two sister-inlaws, Ann and Betty Russell, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Roy is preceded in death by parents; wife, Joan Weatherly Russell; granddaughter, Wiley Nicole Russell; two brothers, Charles "Nipper" Russell and Billy Russell; and a sister, Evelyn Elworth Trickey.
