Mr. Robert Rhodes

Robert Copeland Rhodes, 68, of North Little Rock, formerly of Nady, Arkansas, passed peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, May 21, 2010. Robert was a member of the first graduating class of Sylvan Hills High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He started R&R Food Brokers, October 1977 and in that capacity served on various food service advisory boards. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of waterfowl USA. He was a member of Nady Church of the Nazarene, former member of the district advisory board for the South Arkansas District Nazarene Church. He was on the board of trustees for Southern Nazarene University, and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for the Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edith Rhodes, of Nady; two daughters, Tina Cummings and husband, David, and Melinda Stafford and husband, Robert; four granddaughters, Ashley McDowell and husband, J.D., Alicia McAdams, Abby McAdams, and Amanda Cummings; one grandson, Chris Cummings, all of Sherwood; two brothers, William Rhodes and wife, Nelly, of Sheridan, and Paul Rhodes and wife, Janet, of Grapevine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Easter and Hazel Rhodes.
Memorials may be made to Rhodes Cemetery, in c/o Paul Rhodes, 2499 Grant 14, Grapevine, AR 72057, for the purpose of construction of pavilion in honor of Robert Rhodes.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Rhodes Cemetery in Sheridan, AR. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
