Mr. Posie Bryant

Posie Herbert (P.H.) Bryant of Austin was born on July 22, 1920 to Samuel H. and Sarah Ellen Farrow Bryant at Vilonia. He departed this life at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2010 at the age of 89.
He married Tressie Hoggard on February 20, 1943. They made their home on the Bryant farm for all their married life in the Woodlawn community.
Posie retired from dairy farming after 28 years during which time he was a milk route salesman for 26 years. He retired from Remington Arms as a tool crib attendant in 1985. In retirement, he assisted in his wife's quilting business and enjoyed gardening and feeding the cows.
Posie was the youngest of seven children and was preceded in death by his brothers: Will, Wes, Jim, Marshall, and Frank Bryant and a sister, Thelma Susan Bryant Creech. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Dan Bryant.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Tressie Hoggard Bryant; children, Danny and Myra Bryant and Galen and Lois Ann Bryant all of Carlisle, Avis and Len Cotton of Dardanelle, Phil and Patty Bryant of Broadway, North Carolina, and Beverley and Guinn Massey of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Cindy Hutchins, Mike Massey, Carey Bryant, Sarah Margaret Cotton, John Bryant, Thomas Cotton, Paul Bryant, and Andrea Clevenger; four great-grandchildren, Dani Hutchins, Kylie and Grayson Clevenger and Rachel Bryant.
Posie served on the Board of directors for the Tri Community Fire Department, was a charter member of the E.H. English Masonic Lodge #237 at Wattensaw, and, a Methodist by faith, and attended Providence United Methodist Church. The Bryant family was named the North Lonoke County Farm Family of the Year in 1962, and have been lifelong members of the Woodlawn community.
Memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church or to donor's choice.
