Allen Shuster, 82, of North Little Rock passed away on April 2, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1930 in the Bronx, New York, to the late Herman and Lillian Shusterwitz.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Annie Lea Karn Shuster; his sister, Rosalind Rotter, niece Carol Newman and husband Eric, nephew, Steven Rotter and his daughters, all of Florida; sister-in-law, Martha Yeager; dear cousins, Judy, Dan and Mark Danielowicz, of North Little Rock, Andrea, Jerry, Tori and Cory Moses of Sherwood; T.J. Wheeler of Pennsylvania; Jeanette, Kenny and Brittany Cox of California; Joyce and Franklin Griffin, and Wesley and Misty Griffin and their children, of Jacksonville.
Allen was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving 6 years, and worked in the printing and insurance industries. He was a self-taught artist and produced many impressionist oil paintings that have been admired by many.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Allen's caring and compassionate caregivers, David and Nancy, and to Ellen, Judy and Connie of Baptist Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4106 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock with Father Carey Stone officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday before the service at the church. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
