Morris Henson

September 22, 1960 — February 4, 2024

Hot Springs native Morris Henson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 4, 2024. He left behind a profound impact on the lives he touched as his vibrant personality and positive attitude made every moment in his company truly special. Throughout his remarkable journey, Morris embraced life with passion and brought joy to all who knew him.
Born on September 22, 1960, in Hot Springs AR., Morris was the son of Edward Henson and Dorothy Asbury-Henson. He always saw the best in people and treated everyone with kindness and respect. Morris had a way of making life fun for those around him through his infectious spirit and unwavering positivity.
An avid outdoorsman, Morris found great solace in nature. He had a deep appreciation for hunting and spent countless hours exploring the beauty of the wilderness. Truly at peace when surrounded by the serenity of the great outdoors, Morris cherished his time spent among nature's wonders. When not chasing after wildlife, Morris delighted in tending to and mowing his yard and pasture, spending time watching the horse races at Oaklawn Racetrack, and making memories with his family.

Morris is preceded in death by his mother and father, Edward and Dorothy Henson, as well as two nephews, Michael Minton and Corbin Henson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Henson of 20 years. Together, they created a tapestry of love and support that weathered the highs and lows of life. Morris's legacy will continue through his children: Todd Henson, Teddy Caldwell, Tony Maness, Jamie Magby, Amy Henson, Briar Henson, Aresa Whisenant, and Kristin Davis. They carry with them his enduring spirit and unwavering love. Morris also held a special place in the hearts of his 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his immediate family, Morris leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were fortunate to have had him in their lives. Mary (Buddy) Minton, Luke "Bodie" (Deborah) Henson, Lisa (Robert) Dryman, Eric (Malinda) Henson, Davey (Julie) Henson.

His generous spirit and infectious laughter brightened every room he entered. As we mourn the loss of Morris Henson, we also rejoice in the memories that he leaves behind. His life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and unwavering optimism. Morris taught us to find happiness in life's simplest pleasures and to cherish every moment we have with our loved ones.
