Morgan Brandon

Morgan "Rusty" Brandon, age 70 of Arkadelphia died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at the Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was born Nov. 7, 1936 in Scottsboro, Alabama, the son of the late James and Kitty Tinney Brandon. He was a retired SFC. U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He held three Bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Honor Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross and National Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member of the Disabled Veteran's Association, the Lions Club of Arkadelphia and First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Halford Brandon.


Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Lynn Gilbert of Mansfield, TX and Debra Ann Keller of Fayetteville, AR; two brothers, Billy Frank Brandon of Scottsboro, AL and Danny H. Brandon of Arab, AL; one sister, Kathrine Belamy of Scottsboro, AL; four grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia with Rev. Lynn Worthen and Terry Carter. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Music Dept.
