Monette "Monie" Phillips Duncan, 83, of Little Rock, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. She was born July 5, 1924 in Beebe, Arkansas, the daughter of Joseph and Eva Lee Brown Phillips. Monette was a resident of Woodland Heights where she participated in the style shows and the Halloween and Christmas Door decorating contests. She had retired from the Arkansas Student Loan Guarantee Foundation where she assisted in funding student loans. During retirement she was an employee of the Arkansas House of Representatives during regular and special sessions of the Legislature. Those who knew her knew of her love and devotion to her family. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leland D. Duncan, she is survived by one son, Dwight L. Duncan (Barbara) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Elizabeth Duncan Harmon (John T.) of Bedford, Texas; granddaughters, Michelle Hoge Swain (Roy) of Conway, Taylor Ann Duncan of Atlanta, and great-granddaughter, Audrey Elizabeth Swain of Conway; bonus grandchildren, Hope Tate of Little Rock, Trent Harmon of Ft. Worth, Texas and Hazel Hill of Maumelle, Arkansas; bonus great-grandchildren, Hayden Peters, Hannah Grace Peters, Stephen Peters, Hollis Peters and Harmon Peters, all of Maumelle and Madeline Tate of Little Rock. Visitation will be held Friday, April 4 from 2-4 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 5, there will be visitation from 1-3 p.m. held at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th St., Fort Smith, followed by a Graveside Service at 4:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
