Molly Belle Harrod Garrett was the daughter of Dr. George Washington Lynn Harrod and Grace Irene “Goodsell” Harrod of Vilonia, Arkansas. She was born on September 30, 1920 in a log house and delivered by her father, “The Doctor of Faulkner County.” She attended Woodrow School and Vilonia High School. She graduated from Arkansas Beauty School in North Little Rock, AR and married Edmon Garrett in 1939, who died in 1960. She had one son, “Eddie”, who died in 2008.
She is survived by her only daughter, Velta Shipps (Jim) of Little Rock, AR; three grandchildren, Gina (Eric) Vaught of Springdale, Arkansas, Clay (Karina) Shipps of Virginia, and Lynne (Jeff) Penn of Benton, AR; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Molly was a long-time member of North Bryant Church. Her time spent after retirement from Timex was growing pretty flowers for her yard. She loved her animals. She was a good mother and friend. Everyone loved her for her pleasant personality and sweet smile. A very special thanks to Saline Memorial Hospice House, Bryant, AR.
Funeral service will be Friday, 10:00 AM, July 12th at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street with burial following in Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
