Miriam Verlon Smiley

Miriam Verlon Smiley, age 85, of Hot Springs, went to Heaven on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

She was born on April 20, 1937, in the community of Washita, the daughter of Bill Rains and Lydia Summit Rains.

Miriam was the best Mother, Nana and wife to ever take a breath.  Family meant the world to her and she was the center of our world.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loyal soul mate, best friend and husband of 53 years, James Smiley; her two daughters, Jamie Steele and Beverly Gaston; one son, Billy Sheets; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; extended family and many wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the Rocky Cemetery, in Sims.

Arrangements will be under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
