Minnie Singleton

Minnie Mildred (Manley) Singleton, age 84 of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007 in Baptist Hospital at Little Rock following a brief illness. She was born in Lepanto, Arkansas on May 14, 1923 to Ida Bell (Harrason) and Bedie Owen Manley. Mrs. Singleton attended school in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Mrs. Singleton was employed as a sales associate of M.M. Cohn for thirty years before her retirement. She was the co-founder and owner of Singleton Companies, Inc. for more than 40 years. She was a longtime member of the M.M. Cohn Pro-Club. She attended and was a 47 year member of the Park Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Singleton Condran (husband John) of Muncie, Indiana; son Jay William Singleton, III (wife Jeannette); grandson David Gover (wife Marilyn); and granddaughter Catherine Trinkle (husband Troy) of Avon, Indiana; great-granddaughters Claire Trinkle and Sophia Trinkle of Avon; brother-in-law, Elvis Singleton (wife Sidney) of North Little Rock; and sister-in-law, June Dean of Warner Robbins, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James William Singleton, Sr., on December 7, 2006, son James William Singleton, Jr., on March 19, 1965, sisters Wilma, Maxine Solomos and brother Lemmy Manley.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170 from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M., Friday.
