Miniimah Salaam, 58, passed away October 23, 2014 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born in Sumter, South Carolina to George and Maime Kennedy Lowery, she was a teacher at the Sister Clair Muhammad School.
Preceded in death by her husband, Muhammad Salaam, she is survived by her parents; children, Jamalbinminiimah Salaam of Newark, New Jersey, Muhammad Salaam (Shemethia) of South Orange, New Jersey, Khadijah Salaam of Westfield, New Jersey, Miniimah Muhammad (Abdulqayyum) of Lithonia, Georgia, Wakeelah Salaam of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Rasul Salaam of Newark, New Jersey; two sisters, four brothers, and sixteen grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, October 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Islamic Center of Little Rock, 3224 Anna Street, Little Rock, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Pine Bluff.
