Mildred Staerkel

Mildred Marie Staerkel, 96, passed away on March 5, 2016. She was born January 30, 1920 to Augustus and Mary Kitts in Armstrong Springs, Arkansas. She married Alvin Staerkel on March 23, 1941 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas. For more than 14 years she was a clerk at Laman Public Library in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a member of 1st United Methodist in North Little Rock and was a member of the Arkansas Library Association and the Laman Library Board.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin; parents: Gus and Mary; and a grandson, Brian DuBose.
She is survived by her daughter, Marry DuBose and husband Jim of Georgetown, TX; son, Mark Staerkel and wife Cathy of Leander, TX; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. Inurnment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements by Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home. Guest register at www.SmithFamilyCares.com
