Mildred Johnson

Mildred McKenney Johnson, 83, of Bryant, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15, 2010. Mildred was born on August 1, 1926 in Antioch, Arkansas to John Griggs and Alma Garner McKenney, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of sixty years, Solon E. Johnson of their home in Bryant. She is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Rick Lafferty, Phyllis and Paul Shelby and Robbye and Rhett Folse, all of Bryant. She was "Grammy" to her six grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Leslie Folse, Griggs Folse, Lindsay and Glenn McCoy, Leslie and Kyle Smith, Seth and Mindy Shelby and Alison and Dustin Suitor; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Johnnie Ruth Fisher and her husband Jim of Hot Springs; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for over fifty-one years, where she and her husband made many cherished and lasting friendships. She was a homemaker to her husband and daughters until she started to work for the Arkansas Revenue Department where she retired after over twenty years of service.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents, are a brother, Clark Woodroe McKenney; sisters Nina May McKenney and Irma Grace Howerton and two great-granddaughters, Emma and Ruth Folse.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Benton Healthcare Center, (19701 Hwy. I-30 S., Benton, AR 72015), for the loving care they provided over the last three years and to Saline Memorial Hospice, (23157 I-30, Bryant, Arkansas, 72022), who provided comfort in her final days. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to either facility.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, with burial in Antioch Cemetery.
