Mildred Brady
Mildred Hayes Brady received her angel wings on July 30, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born in Marks, Mississippi on October 1, 1923 to Azar Mandeville and Azalea Stapp Hayes. She was the seventh and last survivor of eight children. Her nickname was "Billy Goat" because of her hard head and determination. Mildred graduated from high school in Sunflower, Mississippi and then attended Draughon School of Business in Memphis. She met and married Billy G. Mitchell, a handsome pilot in the Army Air Corps. This union produced four children whom she loved with all her heart. She was a homemaker who loved growing beautiful flowers in her garden and sewing to create decorator rooms. She truly could make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Mamma volunteered for all of her children's activities. She was a Scout leader, homeroom mother, and dance teacher for talent shows among others. We were lucky to have had the best Mamma in the world. She spent most of her adult life raising children in Helena and the last ten years in central Arkansas.
She is survived by her first husband, Billy Mitchell; sons, David Mitchell and wife, Lynda, of Maumelle and Tim Mitchell of Fayetteville; daughter, Brenda (BJ) and husband, Ken, also of Maumelle; grandsons, David Mitchell (Tasha) of Helena, Brady Bratcher (Charissa) of Maumelle, and Tim Mitchell of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters, Kim Mitchell, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Waverly Counts (Jeff) of Atlanta, Georgia; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, son, Joe Mitchell, granddaughter, Jenna Grandbois and second husband, Joe C. Brady.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 2-4 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), (501)224-2200. There will be no service.
