Mildred Annalee Wiley, age 81, of Kirby, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2011. She was born on December 29, 1929, at Foreman, Arkansas, the daughter of Ezra Funderburk and Fannie Simmons Funderburk. Growing up, the family lived in Mena, Daisy, Nathan and Holly Grove where she would meet her future husband. On September 11, 1949, she was married to Earnest Wiley who preceded her in death on May 22, 2007. In 1953, Mildred and Earnest moved to California where they settled in Arvin; this was home for the next 50 years. She worked at several fruit sheds and at the Arvin High School cafeteria. She worked eight years for Salters Lab and retired in 1992. She loved fishing, gardening, cooking and attending churches in the Arvin area. In 2003, they moved back to Arkansas and resided in Kirby. She is survived by her daughter, Deborrah Smelser of Kirby; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Vearl Funderburk of Delight; and three sisters, Erma Lee Griffith of Kirby, Mazzie Brewer and Mearl Carr, both of Daisy. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, September 19, 2011, in the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
