Milburn Hill

Reverend Milburn Hill, age 90, of Ward, went to be with The Lord Friday, November 11, 2016. He was born to Ernest and Anna Belle (Permenter) Hill of Mt. Vernon on August 26, 1926. Before being called to serve the Lord, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. In November of 1954, he surrendered to preach and was ordained as a Baptist Minister in January of 1955. He pastored churches across Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas for thirty six years. Milburn was well loved and respected wherever he went. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Milburn is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Morris and Marvin; one sister, Myrtle Fawcett.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Mary; three daughters, Kathy (Hank) Skidmore, Vickey (Lee) Jackson, and Pam (Ricky) Griffin; one son, Jerry (Kimberly) Hill; seven grandchildren, Scotty Jackson, Shawna (Joseph) Bell, Stacy (Mike) Ostrowski, David (Sara)Griffin, Kristen (Robert) Montague, Justin Skidmore, and Bethany Hill; ten great grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Olivia, Joseph Jr., Adrianna, Mackenna, Peyton, Jeremiah, Morgan, and Isaiah.

Memorials may be made to Ward First Baptist Church, c/o The Food Pantry or AWANAS, P.O. Box 240, Ward, Arkansas 72076.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, 208 North Scott Street, Ward, Arkansas 72176. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the church with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, a certified Veterans Care provider.
