Mike Oury, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 1,2024, at the age of 76. He was born on April 18, 1948, in Helena, Arkansas to William James Oury, Sr. and Helen Norma (Massery) Oury.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mike served from 1970-1973 and even excelled as a player on the Army softball tournament teams. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued his passion for numbers and shifted his career towards accounting after completing his education at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Baseball held a special place in Mike's heart. He not only played college baseball but also generously shared his knowledge and love for the game by coaching Little League at Geyer Springs for many years.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Donna Oury; three sons: Jason Oury and wife Allyson, Justin Oury, and Kevin Oury; step-daughter Sharon Steele; step-sons Brannon Garrison and Bryce Garrison; grandchildren Taylor Oury, Nick Oury, Paxton Oury, Braylon Steele, Blakley Steele, Bailey Johnson and husband Judah, Riley Garrison; Hayden Guajarado; great-grandson Mason Oury; brother Jim Oury; sisters Debbie Barron and husband Ralph and Jeanne Metzger and husband John David; and his constant fur companions: Blue, Shadow, and Mandy. Additionally, he is survived by a large extended family including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends who will cherish their memories with Mike forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents William James Oury Sr. and Helen Norma (Massery) Oury; brother Danny Oury; and step-daughter DeAnna Garrison.
Services to honor his life will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton on May 11th starting with visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a Graveside Service at Rosemont Cemetery at 12:30 PM.

Although Mike has left this world physically, the impact of his kindness, love for family and sportsmanship will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
