Mignone Carter Brooks

Mignone Carter (Little) Brooks of Maumelle, AR passed away August 15, 2024, at the age of 89.. (Affectionately known as "Nonnie" by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.)

Mignone was born in Barnsdall, OK on May 7, 1935, to Jasper and Bonita Little.  The family moved to the Rio Grande Valley, TX where her parents operated a grocery store.  In 1946 her family moved to Bentonville, AR where her parents bought and operated Little's Save-Way IGA.

Mignone graduated from Bentonville High School where she was a majorette in the band.

Mignone married Ray Thomas in 1953 and was blessed to have two children.  Mignone worked as an administrative assistant for several companies in AR and AZ.  She expressed her faith in Jesus Christ as a young mother and fellowship with Him and others grew more precious in her later years

Mignone suffered with MS and was in a wheelchair for the last 20+ years of her life.  She resided the last 14 years at the Lakes of Maumelle Health and Rehhab where she was dearly loved.  She enjoyed going out to her church fellowship meetings and family holidays when able.

She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Ray Thomas.  She is survived by her son Charles (Belinda) Thomas of Hensley, AR; daughter Sherry (Allen) Buckler of Maumelle, AR; brother, Wesley (Betty) Little of Pensacola, FL; 3 granddaughters:  Kandace (Jason) Buckler Gerber of Little Rock, Jessica (Brandon) Buckler Corley of Little Rock and Brittany (John) Buckler Miller of Rogers, AR.  Seven great-grandchildren: Harper, Hudson, and Addison Gerber; Duke and Mac Corley and Henry and Titus Miller.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral at 10:30 AM, Tuesday August 20, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment will begin at 11:30, Wednesday, August 21, at Bentonville Cemetery, Bentonville, AR.
