Michael Steven Brown, 63, of Greenbrier, passed away October 29, 2018. Michael was a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/songwriter, who has worked with many of Arkansas's top musicians. His career spans four decades working in numerous styles of music, in venues from country clubs to Vegas, festivals and opening acts for such bands as Styx, John Anderson and the Bellamy Brothers. Michael was the lead guitarist for Robin Lee of Atlantic Records (Black Velvet) in her tour support band, Summerwine.
Music has always been a part of the Brown family, from his grandparents, his dad, as well as two brothers who played, all impacting Michael's musical career. He played the trumpet in the sixth grade, took guitar lessons, but, to a large degree, was self-educated through endless hours of study.
He is survived by his son, Michael Steven Brown, Jr.; mother, Emogene Dorothy Robinette Brown; father, Raymond A. Brown; brothers, Jimmy R. Brown (Joyce) of Mansfield, Texas and Richard L. Brown of Greenbrier; sister, Marilyn S. Brown-Shock of Greenbrier; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Wayne Brown.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200. Michael's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
