Michael Shumate

Michael Don Shumate, 65, of Humnoke, passed away April 21, 2019.  He was born December 20, 1953 in Little Rock to the late Don Aaron Shumate and Patsy Luroyce Box Shumate.

He was a graduate of Henderson Special Education School receiving a diploma from Hall High School.  Michael enjoyed writing short stories and lyrics to songs, photography and was an artist.  He enjoyed watching football, especially the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders.  He was an enthusiast of Native Americans, Ted Nugent, Black Oak Arkansas, Duck Dynasty and a Big Foot Follower.

Survivors include his mother, Patsy of Humnoke; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Besides his dad, he was preceded in death by grandparents:  Robert and Vivian Glover Shumate, and Pat and Irene Brown Box; and his four-legged friends, Tony Joe and Sandy.

Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Rowes Chapel Baptist Church, Hwy 13 North, Humnoke.  Memorials may be made to Easter Seals 3920 Woodland Heights Rd, Little Rock, AR 72212.
