Michael Patrick "Mike" Powell, age 53, of Arkadelphia died Thursday, February 3, 2011. He was born March 9, 1957 in Tucson, AZ the son of Kenneth and Margie O'Neal Powell. He was Engineering Manager at Danfoss Corp. in Arkadelphia. Mike was formerly employed by NIBCO in Blytheville, AR and moved to Arkadelphia with Scroll Technologies in 1992. The Powell family attends the First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia. Mike was a 1975 graduate of Hope High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science In Industrial Engineering in 1980. He earned a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas in 1985. He was a lifetime member of the University of Arkansas Alumni Association. Mike married Jan Miller in Blytheville, AR in 1984, and they celebrated 26 years of marriage. Mike was a wonderful and loyal husband, father and friend. His parents preceded Mike in death.

He is survived by his wife Jan, one son, Chris and one daughter, Laura both of Arkadelphia, two brothers, Lloyd Paul Powell and his wife Joyce of Arkadelphia and Kenneth Victor Powell Jr. and his wife Greer of Tulsa, OK.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carroll Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia or Third Street Baptist Church of Arkadelphia.
