Michael “Mike” Don Cox, age 57, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and recently of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was born on October 26, 1963, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Charles Edward Cox and Edith Vernell (Turner) Cox Gaa.
Mike will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and his deeply rooted faith. He never met a stranger and went out of his way to give to others and help them feel they belonged. He encouraged others to find the silver lining, receive the good news, and develop a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He attended City Church in Fort Wayne and recently completed the long-term rehabilitation program at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, fishing, and being outdoors with family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Vernell Gaa of Murfreesboro; his 5 siblings, Charles (Beverly) Cox of Fort Wayne, Deborah (John) Oliver of Afton, Michigan, Terry (Diana) Cox of Murfreesboro, Kevin (Tamzen) Cox of McCaskill, and Stacy (Kevin) Jones of Fort Wayne; his 3 nephews, Donavon Cox, Saxton Cox, and Dallas Cox; his 3 nieces, Ciara Ikein, Charlie Cox, and Abreanna Cox; a special friend, Caryn Fowler of Fort Wayne; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; nephew, John Charles Cox; and nieces, Kaitlynn Cox and Angel Cox.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Kyle Cowart officiating.
