Michael Edward Burchfield, 65, of Alexander, AR entered the presence of God on February 17, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1956, in Waukesha, WI, to Carl and Katie Burchfield.
Mike loved his wife Jessie and their family with his whole heart. He spent most of his free time with Jessie and their children and grandchildren, doing everything from giving four-wheeler rides to instigating YouTube video dance parties, and hosting movie nights and epic grandkid sleepovers. Coming from a close-knit family, he was also devoted to spending time with his parents, siblings, and his many nieces and nephews, enjoying many a game night or just visiting. He embraced Jessie's large family, and helped provide loving in-home care to Jessie's parents in their last days.
He was an avid football fan, always rooting for his Green Bay Packers and contemplating how to dominate his various fantasy football leagues.
Loving God above all else, he was an actively involved member of Abundant Life A/G Church in Bryant, Arkansas. He served as a commander of the Royal Rangers for over 15 years, mentoring many young men. Mike was the embodiment of the Ranger spirit, leaving every place better than he found it. He also served as a deacon and leader of the men’s ministry, touching many lives. After a visit to the Philippines in 2010, he became a faithful supporter of the Philippine Mission Fund, supporting churches in and around his late mother-in-law’s remote village.
Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army, from 1975-1978 as a military police officer.
For the past 27 years, Mike worked as a home health respiratory therapist. His coworkers loved him, and his patients truly adored him. He was thoughtful and compassionate to them, always willing to go out of his way to help however he could.
He was preceded in death by his nephews Robert Burchfield and Eric Burchfield and his mother-in-law Pacita Wallace and father-in-law Ova Wallace.
He is survived by his parents, Carl and Katie Burchfield; Jessie, his loving wife of 16 years; brothers David (Pattie) Burchfield and Andy (Tamra) Burchfield; sisters Bonnie (Johnny) Morgan and Cindy (Kelly) Doolin; sons Robbie (Marthann) Burchfield, Josh (Casey) Burchfield, and Shawn (Kacie) Burchfield; daughter Guinte Cranford; grandchildren Austin Whittaker, Emily, Dillon, Payton, Addysen, Kady, Slate, and Sloane Burchfield, and Bentley Clement, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many other loved ones.
