The family of Michael J. Kaczka would like to thank you for honoring his memory by your presence today.
Michael John Kaczka, 70, of Dallas, Texas passed away on December 16, 2018 after battling colon cancer. Mike was born November 15, 1948 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Ferdinand and Angeline Kaczka.
He survived by his daughters Michele Kaczka and Danielle Kaczka Long, his son-in-law Ryan Long and three grandchildren Bentley, Farrah and Channing Long; one brother, Ferdie Kaczka and sister-in-law Annabelle Kaczka of Greensboro, N.C. Waiting for him in heaven are his parents and brother August Kaczka.
He graduated from St. Patrick’s School, Little Rock Catholic High School and University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Mike was very active at UALR. He served as the Student Body President, Dean’s List, apart of Alpha Kappa Psi and Pi Sigma Epsilon and received the Wall Street Journal Award his graduating year.
Mike then worked for Lone Star Gas and ARCO Oil & Gas as Audit Managers. In the early 80’s he bought Sauna Centers and owned/operated it for over 20 years. Mike was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic church in Richardson, Texas.
He loved hunting and fishing especially on his family farm in Arkansas where he would hunt game as a young teen. He enjoyed sports, was athletic and coached his daughters in their sports. He introduced the game of golf to Michele and Danielle both at a young age. A good day was watching them play golf or talking about the game together. He was known as “Babo” to his three grandchildren and loved any opportunity to fish with them or share a Wendy’s chocolate frosty. He was a good writer leaving memories, love and life stories for his family.
Visitation will be 10a.m-12p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a lunch reception at the Capital Hotel for all guests. Spreading of his Ashes will be for family only. In Lieu of flowers please donate to Little Rock Catholic High School.
